Cosmology: God’s Blueprint
Why Should Christians Care About the Shape of the Earth?
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:9-10 (NKJV)
Why should believers care about God’s will regarding the structure and design of the earth? Why does the topic of biblical cosmology matter? And what does it have to do with our personal walk with God?
Like any passage in Scripture, it helps to slow down and break it apart. When we do this, we begin to understand not just what God says, but why He says it—and how that transforms us.
Let me give a personal example. One of my children often forgets a simple instruction: “Fill the sink before washing the dishes.” Even after years of reminders, he sometimes lets the water run. But when we explained why—how it wastes water, and the impact it has—he began to remember. Understanding the reason made the instruction stick.
God teaches us in a similar way. He gives us spiritual understanding through His Word, and through life’s ups and downs, so we grow in maturity and faith. The more we know His will, the more we walk in step with Him—even in things like the truth about creation.
What Is God’s Purpose in Revealing the Flat Earth?
Paul’s prayer for the church in Colossae was that they would be filled with the knowledge of God’s will—not just facts, but deep spiritual understanding of what God wants and why.
So how does this connect to flat earth and biblical cosmology?
It shows that God has a specific design—a firmament, foundations, the waters above. He didn’t leave creation up to man’s interpretation. Instead, He wrote it clearly in Scripture for us to believe.
Knowing that the earth is not a globe isn’t about winning arguments. It’s about submitting to God’s truth and recognising His authority over creation. His design reflects His glory, not human invention.
Your Role in the Battle for Truth
If you’re wrestling with these truths, asking “What am I supposed to do with this?”, you’re not alone. Many believers are waking up to the lies of the world and seeking God’s original design.
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” – Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV)
God is calling His people to wake up and walk in truth—not just in personal holiness, but in what we believe about His Word, including what it says about the heavens and the earth.
When you understand biblical cosmology, it sharpens your discernment and strengthens your faith. The truth about creation prepares you to confront deception and share the full gospel message with boldness, knowing Jesus is seated above in heavenly places.
God’s Glory in the Structure of His Creation
So why has God revealed this truth to His church now?
Because in the last days, deception is everywhere. Knowing the earth is not a globe but made according to God’s design exposes the lies of man and highlights the unchanging truth of Scripture. We must return to His Word as the ultimate source of knowledge—not science textbooks or secular theories. God is revealing His glory through the very structure of the world He made. And He invites you to be part of that truth-bearing mission.
Final Encouragement: Stand Firm in the Knowledge of God’s Will
Let’s keep praying like Paul did—for spiritual wisdom, for boldness to proclaim the truth, and for courage to stand on the Word of God. Flat earth is not just a theory. It is part of the full counsel of Scripture, revealing biblical cosmology and pointing us to the Creator Himself.
